Named after one of the first female composers in recorded history, the Hildegard String Quartet met in 2018 while performing with the Me2/ Orchestra Burlington. United by a mission to share live music for mental health, we are a diverse ensemble focused on bringing happiness to any occasion. We enjoy playing a wide range of string repertoire from classical to contemporary. Let us know what we can perform for your event!
We have decades of mastery to entertain attendees at weddings and other social occasions. Craft your celebrations with the ambience of classical and contemporary music. Have us tailor unique arrangements based on your requests.
We play in public on occasion and would love to perform for you. See us at select community concerts and garden concerts throughout the season. View our calendar for upcoming events.
Do you need a quartet for your occasion?
The Hildegard Quartet has a 2025 rate of $588 for the first hour. Subsequent hours are $522 per hour.
Deposits of $50 are required to reserve dates. Because the musicians are based in Chittenden County, events outside of Chittenden County require a two hour minimum.
We play both indoors and outside. However, string instruments are extremely valuable and susceptible to damage when exposed to certain climatic variations. Therefore, the performers must be provided with some type of shelter from rain (tent), direct sunlight (shade) and freezing temperatures (indoor venue).
The Hildegard String Quartet is based in Chittenden County. Travel fees for each player will be included for events outside of a 20 mile radius of Burlington. When applicable, the 2024 IRS standard mileage rate of $0.655 per mile will be added for each player.
The Hildegard String Quartet may elect to apply discounts or waive performance fees if events are mission-driven or provide equal access to music for our community. Let us know if your event focuses on mental health or expanding access to music for underserved populations.
